Footbridge over the Sèvre in the Parc Interrégional du Marais Poitevin, in Le Vanneau

This operation is situated in a special context: the restoration of the footbridge for the La Sèvre village is part of a larger project to promote the hydraulic heritage of this region and as such has been integrated into the Opération Grand Site carried out in the Marais Poitevin. The rehabilitation of the footbridge mainly involves the following: replacing the existing piles (without moving the apron), bringing the protective railing up to standards, removing intermediate supports under the bays and local improvements to the existing framework. A tool specially adapted to the project’s requirements had to be designed when painting and preparing the existing framework. The age of the footbridge required specific reflections on the use of regulatory and calculation standards. This work was carried out in close collaboration with the Veritas Chief Engineer, Mr. Christian Lapeyre.
