Arts and Social Science University Library, in Brest

How do you work with reinforced concrete to make a continuous structure laid out in the form of shear walls, deep beams and slabs to house a reading area? This project attempts to provide an answer by exploring the possibilities afforded by this material both from the point of view of its appearances and its possible applications. The static layout underpins the staging of the space by directing large vertical steles towards the centre of the space that contribute to the overall stability of the structure.
